Top Spots Food Guide @ SDSU

By Rebecca K.

Welcome to San Diego! My name’s Rebecca and I’ll be sharing a couple of spots you should eat at that are close to SDSU campus! You’ve arrived to a land with a lot of good food. So loosen your belt as there’s never been a better time than now to eat your way around all the great restaurants surrounding SDSU.

Breakfast/Brunch

Shirley’s Kitchen -- While there are some amazing breakfast places in San Diego, in terms of distance and taste, Shirley’s Kitchen stands out. Their menu is full of the comfort breakfast classics: french toast, pancakes, and country fried steak. This place is known for its great service and affordable prices.

The Mission -- If you’re willing to go out a little further, you have to visit this popular breakfast spot! The Mission makes it its mission to be environmentally friendly and focuses on having simple and fresh ingredients. The menu, which includes everything from classic breakfast items and sandwiches to a modern cuisine, is sure to satisfy you every time.

Lunch

Test Kitchen Eatery & Workspace -- If you are looking for a good sandwich, this is the place for you! The sandwiches are top notch with crispy bread and bold, flavorful ingredients. Our personal favorite is the Roast Beef Sandwich. This is a hidden gem definitely worth going to.

Kiko’s Place Seafood -- You can’t say you’ve tasted the best of what San Diego has to offer until you try some quality Mexican food. Don’t be fooled by its location or the fact that it operates out of a truck, Kiko has some of the best seafood Mexican food around. Make sure to come early to beat the long lines!
